about

This is an instrumental that I started about a few days before I left for New Orleans. I also worked on it during the plane rides and some of my free time at the hotel.

This is the only track that consists entirely of synthetic instruments and sounds. I used primarily the Tunefish 4 plugin as my virtual instrument and used a MIDI keyboard and/or my MacBook Pro keyboard to play the parts. I didn't go too crazy with time alignment, so some of the parts are a little sloppy, but I had fun with the effects.

I started with a recycled idea from something I wrote about a year ago, with a beat I stole from a Tame Impala B-side, and then I transitioned into a major tonality halfway through to give it a different flavor.

My girlfriend helped me name this, because it’s kind of an incomplete idea with kind of a summery vibe. If I were to sum it up with a color, I’d say it makes me think of pink. She said it made her think of riding in a car with the windows down or chilling on a beach, so that inspired the title.
